Artist Statement

As an environmentally-focused abstract painter, I address global challenges with a focus on climate change and sustainability through my paintings. Using handmade watercolours derived from foraged Earth pigments, my work promotes eco-consciousness and the significance of valuing Earth's resources. Each painting tells a unique story drawn from urban or rural landscapes, aiming to spark conversations on pressing issues like climate change and interconnectedness. Through extensive research, I challenge societal norms and advocate for positive change, motivating viewers to contemplate their environmental impact and the legacy for future generations. My art serves as a call to action, rallying collective efforts towards a sustainable future.

When you look at Lisa’s artwork, it is impossible not to feel grounded by her use of colour and material. But beneath the intricate lines and dots and in fact, inside the very pigment she uses to paint, there are yet more meanings and connections to be made.
